77 North 6th Street
Brooklyn, NY 11211
Restaurant Description:
From the street you can recognize Zenkichi by a red light shining above the doorway. "Inside the restaurant," says Citysearch, "is a twisting maze of dark-wood booths that resemble a train's private dining cars."
The dining booths are curtained with bamboo blinds and connected by stone-and-pebble walkways. Menu selections include eel tempura, homemade tofu with edamame beans and small-plates dishes such as miso-marinated spareribs and oyster risotto. Zagat Survey recommends the cold crab soup and the tuna and avocado soup. Zenkichi's private dining, says A Brooklyn Life, lets guests feel "truly removed from the city in a New York restaurant."
Citysearch: "Elegant, small Japanese plates."
Time Out New York: "Enchanting food."
